I just wanted to take a moment and talk about dslreports. I’ve been away from it for a while..
When i went back I was very happy to see the progress that has been made.
Why did i got back? I’ve been noticing a spike in the amount of Phishing or Bank fraud emails that end up in our catch all account. So i was looking for somewhere to go and report this. I had remembered that DSLR was doing something like this before, based on user submissions.

How DRM contributes to the spread of viruses and malware.
Computers users have been educated/trained to click on a link in order to view content wrapped in drm. However too Often these clicks bring a flurry of crapware installed on your computer. DRM is not the only culprit however their is no doubt in my mind that it has contributed to it lately. Lots of people have been coming to be after clicking on something to view a video or play a game, only to be tricked into installing malware.
Out of 10 people 7 had the same crap ware installed and mentioned clicking on something to access content on a web site. This issue is gaining steam very fast and it’s quite scary considering the amount of video music sites out there and the exploits that are available, when your software is not up to date.
Part of the problem is education. When ever i encounter a user with spy/crap/mal ware installed on the computers. After fixing the issues i advise that about what activities might have brought about these types of problems. Sadly it’s when they try to watch TV, videos, Movies, or music online.
When i leave the customer i leave them with a list of sites to use in order to view content online legally without worring about infestations.

So i’m on my brothers myspace page and i link to a friend we grew up with and click on his profile he’s 30 and then his wife she’s 27 and her profile is set to private. So on the bottom it says “Xyz’s profile is private. Here are some public profiles you might find interesting: “. So with out saying we are all 30ish…
I am expecting to find people our age, Sadly i was mistaken.

Recently I got a chance to install added storage to the backup server with some newish hardware.
1). 3ware 3ware 9500S-4LP
2). 4 x 500 GB Seagate 7200.11
Put all 4 into a raid 5 array with a 64k stripe. Now before i put some data on the array i put it through it’s paces. Coping
